The Ins and Outs of Real Estate During Corona

May 25, 2020 by Cassie Day 1 Comment

These are unique times that leave us wondering what normal even means anymore and also leaves us with a lot of questions as to what is safe and appropriate and what is not. As a Real Estate Agent, I have been getting a lot of questions about the affects this has had on the market and if you can even sell your home or look for a home during this pandemic and wanted to make sure I did my best to clear the air.

The good news is, Real Estate is considered an essential field and we are still working to help people sell their homes and find their dream homes! Yes, there have been some changes to the process, but the market is still moving. And, believe it or not, there are some benefits to the market as it is right now. As a seller, many or waiting to sell their homes so we are seeing homes go pretty quickly when they come on the market, though every case is different. As for buyers, even though there may be a slow in houses available, many people are nervous to purchase right now or don’t know that they can, which may be beneficial for those looking.

As a state, there are many protections that have been put into place to ensure that clients are staying safe. For example, open houses are currently suspended. Also, only two people are allowed on the property at one time to limit exposure. As an office, we have gone above and beyond to ensure that our clients are staying safe. We make sure to bring Lysol wipes to every showing and make sure to clean surfaces after the showing. We encourage clients to use hand sanitizer beforehand or even wear gloves during to minimize exposure to possible germs and make sure to practice social distancing.

Though these changes make the process a little bit more difficult to navigate, we have found that it is all very doable. And, to combat these changes, our office has begun hiring our incredible photographer to create beautiful video tours for our listings. As always, we utilize social media and advertising to ensure that our clients’ listings are getting as much exposure as possible. And, we are watching the market closely, keeping up to date on health and safety standards, and are doing everything we can to support our clients well during these unsure times. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us on our team anytime!
