Cassie, Aly and Danielle are BACK to talk about BURNOUT! Something we experience weekly! The comedown from the spring market and into the summer is a recipe for burnout. Or individual, difficult clients causes transaction burnout.
How do you do real estate and take care of little people? There’s no break. There’s nothing more rewarding than being a mom, but especially being a new mom with real estate is draining because real estate is all-encompassing and my brain feels like it will explode. But I am so grateful!
The most I have had under contract at one time is 7 and it was so hard to stay on top of everything. I felt like I couldn’t get out of bed at times and felt like I had Swiss cheese brain.
I was chatting with my counselor about it the other day (THERAPY IS COOL) because I want to spend more quality time with my kids, but end up creating more business with work even in slow seasons. That is one of the hard things about our industry is we can get super busy and then in the comedown you feel like you should always be doing something. It’s a roller coaster in the real estate world – up and down. It is so difficult in our industry.
There’s nothing scarier than finishing up all your transactions and then you have no more clients or homes under-contract and it is easy to psyche yourself out. You build up your threshold of how many deals you can handle while managing clients and new leads and the juggling balance can be a lot.
My most recent burnout is with certain agents I am dealing with and feeling like I need to babysit them to do their side of things. When I send an email I check that off my list and it is so frustrating when the other realtor doesn’t do the task on their side. I shouldn’t have to do both sides of the transaction.
