Downtown Spokane has by far seen the most revitalization and transformation in our area. Years ago there wasn’t much in the way of downtown other than abandoned buildings, an outdated park and a lot of work to be done. But, if you take a look around now, it is hard to believe!
Riverfront Park just completed it’s full renovation with an ice skating rink, beautiful pavilion, walkways and the redone carousel featuring the original horses. There are plenty of places to sit and walk along the river and water features to play in. And, it’s right in the middle of shopping and restaurants.
There are plays, cultural events and exhibits throughout downtown all year long. You can find something for everyone to do. Recently we have also seen a huge increase in local restaurants and eateries and there are so many amazing options to try.
Yet, Spokane still has a small city feel, you can park downtown for reasonable rates and evenings and Sundays for free. It’s not too crowded and we rarely have to deal with traffic.
We are seeing the increase in Spokane population but it’s still a pretty undiscovered city….and we like it that way!
